Marketing is interesting. We have so much to say, and yet we wonder if anyone will actually read what we put out there.
Think about the average billboard. How much time do you have to process what it says? Maybe 3-5 seconds? Which means for that first time viewer, you likely have a 5-6 word max.
Translate that into an ad/announcement/social media post - you’ll likely get people to read 1-2 short sentences before they’ll either want to learn more, or move on. Such is the world we live in!
Editing is important. Peak someone’s interest with that first impression and you’ll have lots of time to tell them all about what you do/what you’re selling. Lose them in the first 5 seconds and they’ll never think of you again.
